Sorry for my absence – as much as I’d love to tell you I’ve been away on holidays gathering inspiration and new clothes this is simply not the case! The last couple of weeks I’ve been scrambling to get everything done and honestly have not had the time to think about photographing outfits. It seemed like a whole bunch of projects I’ve been working towards for months suddenly started to wrap up all at once. Packing up Nan’s house, converting our garage into a home office, launching our new farm management software at work – I confess there have been many days of re-wearing an outfit from the day before.
Anyway, here I am today making a bit of an effort on my appearance for the first time in a couple of weeks, in all blue and green. I’m still trying to figure out if this classifies as monochromatic – regardless, hey I got dressed and perhaps things can slow down a little now (temporarily at least).
Yesterday’s outfit had a tough brief to fulfil. It had to be suitable for: an appointment to sign an important contract, some furniture shopping, and many hours of sorting through old, dusty items from my Nan’s house. Of course, I could have bought a change of clothes. But when you get right down to it I just couldn’t be bothered.
Instead I chose a skirt (to look presentable for my appointment), but made sure everything was easily washable. And along with the skirt, my fleece-lined tights which I love – not only are they beautifully warm, but they are very thick so while busy clearing out the house I didn’t have to worry about accidentally flashing my underwear. Even with our crazy spring weather right now (from gale winds to hail to sunshine all in a day), I didn’t once get too cold or too hot, and was comfortable all the way until 11pm when we called it a day.

Yesterday I decided I should try harder to find some new colours to pair with my purple jeans – I’m pretty sure today’s green fits the brief. This navy/green print top somehow managed to convince me it was pretty much navy, and then before I knew it I was wearing emerald-green and bright purple together!
These outfit photos have sat on my camera a couple of days now – I don’t even remember which day they were from! Navy and purple: my favourite combination at the moment – I must try to get a little more adventurous again with these purple jeans.
Pretty much every time I wear this leopard print scarf I just can’t resist pairing it with my brown boots. Today I thought I’d consciously do something different (black boots – totally crazy I know). I still managed to sneak in some matching brown with my belt though – I’m wondering now if I should have gone for black instead?
Yes, I’m talking about some very minor points on a standard not-too-exciting outfit. Some days it’s minutia or nothing!
