The pink cardigan over a soft shirt with a bow seemed a bit too feminine for me at first, but then simple jeans and casual shoes balanced out the outfit to something that fits more comfortably in my style. Whatever my style is! I don’t know that I could easily put it into words just yet, but I’m definitely getting a clearer picture.
I really like the balance of this outfit. Busy top, simple bottom, colourful shoes to tie it all together. Casual and relaxed, yet neat and stylish. The more I look at it the more it’s growing on me, possibly turning into one of my favourites!

FABruary day eight: noisy. I really love the accompanying article relating to “noisy” clothing by Andrea from Fox In Flats – somehow the idea of having a “signature sound” seems so romantic and stylish. However, when I went to dig up some of my own noisy items from the wardrobe it was super difficult. When I pondered the situation I quickly realised that noisy clothing is the kind of thing that would drive me nuts – I guess there’s my explanation.
I ended up wearing this chunky white necklace which is really jangly and absolutely impossible to keep still. For good measure I also wore my pink shoes that have a little velcro strap – because it is certainly possibly to make a lot of (irritating) noise with velcro!
(For the record, it was far too hot for a cardigan today but I just thought it looked nice so I took a picture anyway.)
Today’s outfit wasn’t about creativity, it was about hard work. I spent the day helping my sister-in-law clear out and rearrange her study/guest room, which was no small task! It was always going to be a busy day, so the priority was to wear something comfortable (and easily washed).
Personally, I’m a list-maker. I love to organise, categorise and de-clutter. So I actually quite enjoyed the day and we managed to get a LOT done (thanks to my husband and hers for looking after the kids). It’s so satisfying to sit down with a hot cup of tea at the end of a productive day!
Seemed appropriate to show you my Australian flag apron today. Well loved, as you can see by the smears of cake mix adorning it.
The 22nd of December, only three days until Christmas! Also, “eyeliner” day for DAREcember.
I don’t normally wear eyeliner at all. Partly because I’ve had a history of sensitive eyes (back from the days when I wore contact lenses all the time), but mostly because I can’t really be bothered much with makeup. I’m sure my eye makeup doesn’t look at all impressive to most people, but it’s probably more than I would apply for a wedding.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my eyes don’t seem to be so sensitive these days, so that’s one of the hurdles removed. Every time I caught a glance in the bathroom mirror it was such an obvious difference (in a good way) and even my husband noticed. Although I liked the look I still can’t see myself becoming an every-day-full-makeup kind of girl. I’m afraid I’m far too lazy for that, plus when you don’t normally wear much in the way of makeup it’s easy to impress for a special occasion!
